About the Author
ANNA HRACHOVEC launched Mochimochi Land (mochimochiland.com), a website and brand of knitted character designs, in early 2007. Her original knitted creations have been featured on television (Nickelodeon, The Martha Stewart Show), all around the web, and in print (The Chicago Tribune, Martha Stewart Living), as well as exhibited in galleries in New York, Seattle, Berlin, Tokyo, and Seoul. Anna has written four previous knitting books: Knitting Mochimochi, Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi, Super-Scary Mochimochi, and Huge & Huggable Mochimochi. She lives in Chicago with her husband, John Teti.

I'm so excited to get another Anna Hrachovec book! I love her tiny knitting books and have made nearly every pattern in her first tiny mochimochi book, Teeny Tiny Mochimochi. I read through the entire thing and there are three stories in the book with different patterns as the characters. The only thing is, there are a very small number of creatures pictured that are not written as patterns. For instance, in the ocean story, the little seashells are not featured as a pattern, nor are the little clowns in the circus scene. (The clowns are available for a price on her website, but I guess they are not mentioned in the book for some reason.) Nevertheless, this book is not to be passed over. It is not full of repeats or anything, like many books are, but rather is different collection of tiny items and slightly larger scenery for three mochimochi land stories.
I recommend this book to anyone who, like me, loved her first book and wants more of Anna's tiny knitting. :)

Although I don't recommend these patterns for beginning knitters

The patterns are clearly written and the designs are amazingly cute. Although I don't recommend these patterns for beginning knitters, I think that once knitting, purling and knitting in the round are under your belt, you can join the fun of Mochimochi Land! From a growing donut to a microwave on the blitz, a blimp, a balloon, and tiny crabs, there's nonstop fun! I've already knit several things (including the carnival tent!) and my needles are waiting for more.

I am amzed that this author's keep getting better and better. Adventures in Mochimochi Land has adorable characters in exciting tales. Who will win the election to be in charge of the treasure chest? Can Ovenston be saved?

There are twenty patterns so you can knit your own cast of characters and create new adventures. I can't wait to start knitting!

Cavell quickly discovers that an incredibly virulent virus code-named the Satan Bug has been stolen by a ruthless criminal. Cavell and the police must quickly find the holder of the Satan bug and his hostages before he can escape or use the deadly virus. The chase takes Cavell and his police allies to London for a final showdown with the master criminal and his gang, where the stakes may include the destruction of the City of London.

"The Satan Bug" features the twisting plot, excellent and often ironic dialogue, and nail-biting finale typical of Maclean's novels. Fans of Alstair Maclean will not be disappointed. This book is highly recommended for its rousing adventure story and still timely topic.

About the Author
Alan Schwarz is a former Pulitzer Prize–nominated investigative reporter for The New York Times whose acclaimed series of more than one hundred articles exposed the seriousness of concussions in the NFL and led to safety reforms for young athletes nationwide. His work was profiled in The New Yorker and honored with a George Polk Award, the Associated Press Sports Editors Award for Project Reporting (three times), and the 2013 Excellence in Statistical Reporting Award from the American Statistical Association. He and his family live in New York City.

The author does a good job explaining the problem at a macro level

Interesting read. I knew a little about how ADHD med use was high, but I had no idea how pervasive a problem it has become. The author does a good job explaining the problem at a macro level, while using individual stories to drive it home. Anyone with kids should read this.
