Lucy Scher is a director of The Script Factory, the UK's premier screenwriters' organization. She devised the UK's first training course in script reading, developed the UK's only diploma in script development, and is an internationally recognized script developer.

I bought this book in order to get an insight into the world of script readers which it turns out is being taught as a course on a university level in the UK. For a screenwriters like me this is important to know since our whole career might depend on professional script readers, at least in Europe.
I found the book informative and it comes up with some good points on steps in the screenwriting development process.
It's good to know that the people who are reading scripts for production companies, film funds and TV networks are getting a proper knowledge of how a script works and is written, but I must say that I'm a little bit worried that all the standards and formulas that the book presents might make it harder for original stories to find production in the future. Nevertheless that seems to be the trend of the film business in both Europe and USA these days, that requires stories to fit perfectly into certain genres for the right market and there doesn't seem to be much that anyone can do about it.
